Upper Salmon River Steelhead fishing is in full swing and the Sawtooth Hatchery is reporting 673 fish through their trap as of 3/28. The river is running clear and about 40 degrees with daytime air temps in the upper 40’s and expecting temps in the 50’s for the next few days. Nighttime temps are below freezing. Along with Steelhead, fishermen have been reporting catching native cutthroat and mountain whitefish. Season runs through April 30th.
